Candler - Zella Mae Magdaline Stafford Neff, 82, took the hand of her Lord and went home on Friday December 26, 2003 at Mountain Area Hospice. A native of Knox County, TN She had lived most of her adult life in Buncombe County. She was a member of Clayton Avenue Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Herman and Myrtle Stafford and wife of the late William B. Neff. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, 5 brothers and her son-in-law, Billy B. Harwood. Surviving are her daughter, Georgia Harwood of Candler: sons, James Neff and wife, Terri of Black Mountain, Carl Neff of Asheville and Terry Neff and wife, Kari of Candler; sisters, Joan Cope of Bradenton, FL, Gertie Robinette and Bobbie Wells both of Chicago, IL; brother, Clifford Stafford of Knoxville, TN; 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Clayton Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Bruce Robinson and T.A. Holder officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Zella instilled strong Christian values in her family and will be forever loved and missed.
