Asheville - Zebadiah Oliver Southerland, 10 months old was called home to heaven to be with Jesus Christ his Lord on May 29th 2003, one month to date after his Great Great Grandmother Annie Marie Blazer Ball passed as well as his 1st cousin Christian Coty Southerland. He attended North Asheville Baptist Church. Zebadiah succumbed after and on going, brave battle of open heart surgery at Duke University Medical Center of Durham. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him. Born July 19th 2002 in Asheville, he resided at 119 Dryman Valley Road. Zeb was an angel of earth, you could tell by the touch of his hand and his smile brought the sunlight to every day. He was an exceptional child that had the ability to capture your heart with only one stare from those big blue eyes. For anyone who came in contact with him it was love at first sight and their lives will be touched forever. He never awoke with a frown and would never let anyone down. He was the son of Phillip and Michelle Southerland and is also survived by his loving sisters; Alanna and Navarrie Southerland of the home; Grandparents, Debora and Gary Gibson, Jerry P. Rhoads II and Jerry and Brenda Southerland; Great Grandparents, Joseph C. and Bobbie W. Lonon and Jerry P. and Olivia Rhoads and the late Roy and Annie Ball; Aunts and Uncles, Tina and Lupe Vazquez, Monica Rhoads, Angela Ramirez and Joey Styles, Chris and Brenda Southerland, Jeff Southerland and Eric Capps; Great Aunts and Uncles, Pamela and Phillip Driver, Doris Capps Temples, Jerry and Ernie Ball, Sandra and Myung Guen Lee, Georgia Southerland, Joyce Southerland, Kenny and Maria Southerland; cousins, Jammie Driver, Lupe Vazquez, Dakota Rhoads, Serrena Garcia, Jose Ramirez, Nicole and Sean Southerland, Devin and Miranda Southerland and Jessica Smith; many close cousins, Beverly and Larry Murray, Susie and Lewis Hensley, Kathy and Jeff Andrews, David and Janet Capps, Chuck and Michelle Dowdy and the late Wayne Capps. Michelle and Destiny Robinson, Heather, Eric, Kristi Capps and Christopher Treadway, Kerra and Amber Hensley, Garrett and Ian Andrews, Crystal and Michael Capps and Nicole Dowdy. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at North Asheville Baptist Church in Woodfin with the Revs. Jim Dykes, Ricky Griffin and Marc Penley officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
