Winifred L. Crowder

Asheville Winifred Lucille Follett Crowder, 93, formerly of 63 Baker Avenue, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Aston Park Health Care Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired as a Nurses Assistant with Mission Hospitals and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Crowder was the daughter of the late George Ervin Follett and Edith Surepety Hensley Follett and wife of the late Charles Lewis Crowder. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Frazier and Juanita Sprinkle and brothers, Harry, Bill and Junior Follett. Surviving are her children, Kathy Crowder Hooper and husband Tony of Candler, Timothy L. Crowder of Asheville, Tommy Crowder and wife Kathy of Hendersonville, Anita Crowder Taylor and husband Wendall of Candler and Mark Crowder of Asheville; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Saturday prior to services at the church.
