Asheville - Wilson Bill Miller, 83, formerly of Rt. 4, Old Highway #20 died Friday, August 24, 2001 at Evergreens Health Care in Greensboro following a period of declining health. A native of Detroit, Michigan he had resided in the Asheville area since 1957. Mr. Miller retired as a Quality Control Inspector with Stencel Aero Engineer Co. and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where member of the Mens Bible Class. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was a son of the late Albert and Anna Miller and the husband of Novaline Shelby Miller who died in 1988. Surviving are his daughters, Constance C. Powell and husband, Ken of Randleman and Joanne M.H. Thomas of Boston, Massachusetts; son, Richard D. Miller of Asheville; grandchildren, Brian W. Clayton, Kimberly C. Fritz, Ryan D. Miller and V.O. Thomas. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday in the Mausoleum Chapel of Pisgah View Memorial Park. Military rites will be conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends Monday following services in the Mausoleum Chapel at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Alzheimers Association, WNC Chapter, 3 Louisianna Avenue Asheville, N.C. 28806. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
