Wilma Metcalf Wix

Asheville - Wilma Marie Metcalf Wix, 70, of 42 West Oak View Road, died Sunday August 12, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Williamstown, Ky. after a period of declining health. A native of Buncombe Co., she grew up in Madison Co., then lived most of her adult life in Buncombe Co. She retired from the accounting dept at B.A.S.F. and was a member of the old-timers club of B.A.S.F. She was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church and the W.M.U. of the church. She was a daughter of the late Stuart and Maude Martin Metcalf and was also preceded in death by her first husband Joe Sorrels Webb, Jr. who died in 1954. Surviving are her husband, Fred McSwain Wix, Jr. of the home; daughters, Donna Bennett of Dry Ridge, Ky. and Dena Joetta Webb of Asheville; step-sons, Fred Mike Wix of Brandenburg, Ky. and Steve Wix of Asheville; brothers, Rev. Dr. Calvin Metcalf of Knoxville, Tn. and Samuel Metcalf of Madison, Al.; sisters, Yevonne Revis of Fayetteville and Myra Hall of Mullins, SC.; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Higgins officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7 to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
