ASHEVILLE - WILLIS BRYSON WATTS, 76 OF 23 HUFFMAN ROAD WENT HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD ON MONDAY APRIL 16, 2001 AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS. A NATIVE OF TRANSYLVANIA CO., HE LIVED MOST OF HIS LIFE IN BUNCOMBE COUNTY. HE RETIRED FROM AMERICAN ENKA CORP. AFTER 35 YEARS OF SERVICE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF EDGEWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH, A FORMER ASST. SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER, PRESENTLY SERVED AS THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SUNDAY SCHOOL AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH CHOIR HE WAS A SON OF THE LATE CHARLES BASCOM AND GRACE TALITHA SMATHERS WATTS. SURVIVING ARE HIS BELOVED WIFE, ISABELLE FOWLER WATTS OF THE HOME; SON, JERRY WATTS AND WIFE TRISH OF ASHEVILLE; DAUGHTERS, DEBORAH WATTS BOGGESS AND FIANCEE DON HOLEBROOKS OF ASHEVILLE AND EDNA RUTH HOLT AND HUSBAND MICHAEL HANCOCK OF ASHEVILLE; SISTER, JUANITA GILBERT OF HAMPTON, VA.; BROTHER, ARLIN WATTS OF CANDLER; GRANDSONS, LARRY BOGGESS, JR., JOSHUA BOGGESS AND DANIEL WATTS; GRANDDAUGHTER, DIANA HANCOCK; GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER, KARRY BOGGESS AND SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M. THURSDAY AT EDGEWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH WITH THE REVS. CHARLES SHELTON AND ROSCOE CONNER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN PISGAH VIEW MEMORIAL PARK WITH DANIEL WATTS, LARRY BOGGESS, JR., JOSHUA BOGGESS, GEORGE WOODS, REV. DENNIS TALLCOTT AND REV. FRANK WILLETT SERVING AS PALLBEARERS AND FRED GILBERT SERVING AS HONORARY PALLBEARER. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 7 TO 8:30 P.M.
