William Thomas Slingerland Jr.

August 21, 1941 — August 3, 2001

Candler - William Thomas Slingerland, Jr. 59, of 5 Hidden Forest Estates, died Friday August 3, 2001 at Asheville V.A. Medical Center. A native of Wayne County, MI., he had lived most of his life in Miami Fl. before moving to Buncombe County 1985. He was owner and operator of Poor Man Electric Company, an U.S. Navy veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He was the son of the late William Thomas, Sr. and Aurelia Nellie Slingerland. Surviving are his wife, Pat Williams Slingerland of the home; sons, Pete Cole, Jr. and Ronnie Cole, III both of Asheville and granddaughter, Patricia Ann Cole. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating and military honors conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team.
