William M. "Bill" Sluder

Leicester – William Merritt “Bill” Sluder, 90, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a dairy cattle farmer, a graduate of Leicester High School, and a member of Newfound Baptist Church. Mr. Sluder was the son of the late Frank and Nina Rector Sluder, and husband of Myrtle Shelton Sluder who died October 24, 2006. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including his niece, Tammy Craig and husband John of Leicester and their children, Shana Craig, Kelly Dennie and Kaylin West. No services are planned at this time. Private burial will be held at a later date at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery.
