Asheville - Bill Freeman, 87, died Friday October 10, 2003 at Mountain Area Solace. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from the Buncombe County Schools Maintenance Department after 28 years of service. He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Millard Fillmore and Essie Magdalena Capps Freeman and was also preceded in death by his son, William Reeves Freeman and his daughter Virginia Lee Freeman Radford. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Lottie Mae Clark Freeman of the home; son, Bobby Cordell Freeman and wife Nancy of Asheville; four grandchildren, Bobby Keith Freeman and wife Renee of Asheville, Cynthia L. Radford of Travelers Rest, S.C., Andrea D. Radford of Durham, Kymberly Freeman Enriquez of Grants Pass, OR. and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at New Liberty Baptist Church with the Revs. Garry Rogers and Danny Little officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
