William "Bill" Alexander Hedden

Leicester - William Bill Alexander Hedden, 78, of 51 Elkins Rd. died Monday, August 26, 2002 at Mission St. Josephs Health System. A native of Clay County, he had resided in Buncombe County since 1966. He was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church. Mr. Hedden was the son of the late William Albert and Edna Martin Hedden and the husband of the late Pauline Day Hedden who died in 1997. He was also preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are his daughter, Joyce Hedden Parham and husband Harold of Leicester; son, Jimmy Hedden and wife Suzy of Leicester; grandchildren, Angela Hawkins and husband Roger, Vanessa Hedden, Matthew Hedden and Caleb Hedden; great grandchildren, Andrew Hawkins and Rachel Hawkins; sisters, Kate Rogers of Benton, TN, Donnie Arp of Cleveland, TN, Pearl McDonald of Murphy, Eunice Davis of Andrews, and Bernice Foster of Anderson, SC; special friend, Nancy King. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harold Cable and Lee Davis officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
