Willene L. Moore

Asheville – Willene L. Moore, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at her residence.

A native of Madison County, she resided in Buncombe County since 1972. She was a daughter of the late Samuel Edgar Lankford and Lillie Louise Waldroup Lankford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Bruce Moore; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Moore; sisters: Blanche Martin, Dee Scott, Flora Pruden, Mary Lou Robinson, Shirley Russell, Loraine Crouch and Doris Waldroup; and brothers: Stanley Lankford, Leroy Lankford, Hugh Lankford, Dean Lankford, and Vern Lankford.

Mrs. Moore was a longtime member of Inanda Baptist Church and retired from Jordan Oil Company in 2010.

Surviving are her children: James Michael Moore, Timothy Lee Moore, Marsha Lynn Smith, and Steven Joe Moore and wife Donna; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Sonya Carver; brother, Ed Lankford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 3PM on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in the Chapel of Anders Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Waldroup officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 till 3 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Moore to Inanda Baptist Church, Building Fund, 590 Brevard Rd, Asheville, NC 28806.
