Wayne "Pete" Honeycutt

April 5, 1945 — December 14, 2024

Asheville

Wayne “Pete” Honeycutt, 79, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Swift Creek Health Center at the Templeton of Cary, NC.

  A graduate of Erwin High School class of 1963 and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Mack Daniel Honeycutt and Edna Scott Honeycutt. He was also preceded in death by his brother Charles Honeycutt and sister Madge Murphy. 

  Mr. Honeycutt was a member of Abernethy United Methodist Church. 

  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Marsha Williams Honeycutt; sons: Ken Honeycutt (Claudia), Mike Honeycutt (Beth); grandsons: Addison Honeycutt (Laura), and Jake Honeycutt; special niece, Jenny Stamey (Jim); and many other loving family and friends.

  The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM on January 4, 2025 at the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home located at 1428 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806 followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Dianne Johnston. A burial at Green Hills Cemetery will follow the service for the family. 

  The Honeycutt family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Swift Creek Health Center at the Templeton of Cary for their compassionate care and support.

  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Abernethy United Methodist Church, 1418 Patton Ave #1722, Asheville, NC 28806.

  Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center is honored to serve the Honeycutt family.
