Leicester – Angus Wayne Hague, 79, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at his residence.
A native of Jacksonville, FL, he had resided in Asheville since 1976 and served as a Telephone Lineman for over 30 years with Southern Bell and retired from AT&T in 1996. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Hague was the son of the late Angus Bishop Hague and Janie Hague, and husband of Barbara Carver Hague who died August 4, 2021. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles K. Hague.
Surviving are his sons: Dan Hague and wife Jennifer of Cary and Brian William Hague and wife Elizabeth of Orange Park, FL; daughters: Angela Hague Thomas and husband Travis of Lexington, KY and Andrea Hague Menjivar and husband Dennis of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren: Bishop Hague, Olivia Hague, William Hague, Evelyn Hague, Ada Menjivar, Averie Thomas, Ella Menjivar, Collin Thomas and Giovanny Menjivar; sister, Janice Porter and husband Sid of Gainesville, FL, and his companion “Charlie” his dog.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 24, 2023, at Newfound Baptist Church, with Rev. Bradley Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 PM Friday at the church.
