Wanda Harris

Weaverville – Wanda Geraldine Hughes Harris, 78, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from American Enka Corp following 39 years of service and was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Harris was a daughter of the late Savannah Hughes Harris and was also preceded in death by her son, Ricky Sherlin. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Joseph Daniel Harris of the home; sons, Richard Harris (Lynette) of Jacksonville, NC and Stacy Harris (Tanya) of Candler; grandchildren, Kelsey Kaczynski, Alex Kinney, and Jacob & Jaden Harris; sister, Margie Jones of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Cedar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Roy McPeters and Rev. Eddie Rice officiating.
