Wanda Garland

Asheville – Wanda Garland, 73, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020, at Aston Park Health Care Center. A native of Yancey County, she was raised in Madison County and resided in Buncombe County for most of her adult life. She worked for Mars Mfg. and most recently for Swannanoa Cleaners. She was a kind and good woman who was loved by all who knew her, she will be greatly missed. Wanda was a daughter of the late James Garland and Tina Dora Silvers Garland. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Martha Inez Lankford, Billie Garland, and Betty Sue Garland; and brothers: Ed Garland, William Earl Garland, Donald Garland, Ray Garland, and Hollis Garland. She is survived by a brother, Glenn Garland and his wife Mary Will of Burnsville; a special niece Melisa Austin and her husband Jeffery of Leicester; and by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 125 Ben Lippen Rd 1338, Asheville, NC 28806.
