SKYLAND - WALTER NUNNALLY PARRIS, 75, OF 15 CURTIS DRIVE DIED FRIDAY OCTOBER 13, 2000 AT THE ASHEVILLE V.A. MEDICAL CENTER AFTER AN EXTENDED ILLNESS. A NATIVE OF SPARTANBURG, S.C., HE MOVED TO BUNCOMBE COUNTY IN 1956 AND WORKED FOR BILTMORE MFG. UNTIL HE BECAME DISABLED IN 1964. HE WAS A MEMBER OF SKYLAND BAPTIST CHURCH AND A WWII VETERAN OF THE U.S. ARMY. HE WAS AN INSTRUCTOR AT THE FT. MEADE TRAINING CENTER. HE WAS THE SON OF THE LATE DAVID AND MARY LILLY CANNON PARRIS. SURVIVING ARE HIS LOVING AND DEVOTED WIFE OF 55 YEARS, MYRTLE MORRIS PARRIS OF THE HOME; SONS, ROBERT PARRIS OF THE HOME AND WALTER EUGENE PARRIS OF SNEEDS FERRY; 7 GRANDCHILDREN; 7 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS. HE WAS A CARING AND LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER AND GRANDFATHER. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M. MONDAY AT ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME WITH THE REV. GREG CORN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN FOREST LAWN MEMORIAL PARK. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS 3 TO 4:30 P.M. SUNDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME. MEMORIALS MAY BE MADE TO: SKYLAND BAPTIST CHURCH, P.O.
