Walter F. Hanson

Asheville Walter F. Hanson, 84, of 100 Riceville Rd. and formerly of Old Chunns Cove Rd. passed away Tuesday October 31, 2006 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Middleton County, Connecticut .He was the son of the late Severin and Sigrid Louisa Anderson Hanson. Mr. Hanson was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WW II, received his B.A. Degree from the University of Connecticut and retired from the U.S. Government as a Mathematician. Surviving is his half brother, Ernest Brahm of Trenton, N.J. and special friends, G. William Ray of Wilmington and Jerry and Ray Koontz of High Point. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Lewis Memorial Park with The Rev. Patty Mouer officiating. Friends will visit at the cemetery following the graveside services. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
