Wade Stanley Wright

Arden – Wade Stanley Wright, 79, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at the Charles George VA Medical Center. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of his life, he was the son of the late Millard “Dick” Loys Wright and Athelen Sayles Wright. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Nelson Ballard, Jr. and brother-in-law, Cliff. Mr. Wright retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1980 and then worked Schwitzer for 6 years as the shipping supervisor. He was a member of Laurel Pines Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Linda Daw Wright; daughters: Linda Denise Ballard of Arden and Tiffany Queen and husband Rob of Mills River; grandchildren: Jacob and wife Reba, Kasey, Tyler and wife Erin, Tanner, and Hannah; four great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Wright of Mills River; niece and nephew: Marla Ball and Chris McKinney. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in the chapel of the Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corps. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
