Virginia King

Asheville – Virginia Ella Tilson King, 92, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the Heritage Hills Assisted Living. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was formerly employed as a CNA with Aston Park and Mission Hospital and was a member of Crossroads Church. Mrs. King was the daughter of the late Ott Tilson and Ellen Rowe Tilson and wife of Bobby Joe King who died February 10, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Becky King; son, Johnny Angel and sister, Marie Ball. Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Ingle and husband Malcolm, Barbara Maney and husband Jack all of Asheville and Theresa Vess and husband Joel of Fairview; sons, Charles King of Asheville and Bobby D. King and wife Stephanie of Greensboro; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Crossroads Church, with Rev. Dr. J. Michael Brown and Pastor Wade Zachary officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.
