Weaverville Virginia Anders Ramsey, 91, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at her residence. Virginia was born July 13, 1926 in Buncombe County to the late Bart and Jennie Anders and was married to Clyde Ramsey on October 9, 1943 and was married for 46 years prior to his death in 1989. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Christine Thomas; brothers, Herbert and Charles Anders and son-in-law, Decard Dover. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a member of the Flat Creek Baptist Church, where she especially loved the Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Ramsey was formerly employed at S&H Kress Company and retired from Square-D Mfg Company. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time taking trips with her special friend Betty Hollifield. They especially loved the beach. Surviving are her children, Perry Ramsey (Shirley), Jimmy Ramsey (Joy), Carolyn Dover and Deborah Rice (Robert), 5 grandsons, 8 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and brother, Gene Anders. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, October 13, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Hanrahan and Rev. Jack Roberts officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM Friday prior to services at the funeral home The family wishes to express a sincere appreciation and special thank you to our caregivers, Theresa Fisher who took excellent care of our mother, and Cynthia Bryant, and all of the wonderful people at CarePartners. With their help, she was able to stay at home in the place she loved best.
