Viola Wright Owen

Asheville - Viola Vergie Wright Owen, 90, of 5 Braddock Way died Saturday, September 7, 2002 at the Rickman Health Care Center of the W.N.C. Baptist Home following a period of declining health. A native of Buncombe County, she had resided in Jacksonville, FL most of her life, having returned to Asheville in the early 90s. She was a daughter of the late Pinkney Arthur and Rachel Elizabeth Ford Wright and wife of James Simpson Owen who died in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Grace Clark and Macie Duyck and brothers, Burgin Wright, Pern Wright and Frank Wright. Surviving are her brothers, Fred Wright of Weaverville, Claude Wright of Asheville and Roy Wright of Canton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Wright officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
