Vernon Boyd "Curly" Wright

Fairview - Vernon Boyd Curly Wright, 81, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Park Ridge Hospital, Fletcher following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe Co. he was, along with his son was a self employed contractor. He was a member of Laurel Pines Baptist Church and a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Wright was the son of the late Robert Frank Wright and Hester Earwood Wright. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Thelma Greene Wright of the home; sons, Ronnie L. Wright and wife Carolyn of Fairview and David W. Wright and wife Jodi of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughters, Verma Kirby and husband Quincy of Wilmington, Wanda Blackwell and husband Curtis of Asheville, Francine Alexander and husband Jon of Plano, TX and Delores Hicks and husband Brian of Taylors, SC; sister, Gertrude Wright of Fairview; grandchildren, Angela Burdette, Andrew Shuford, Melissa Wyatt, Francesca Alexander, Sean Alexander, A.J. Hicks and Christopher Hicks; great grandchildren, Stephanie McJunkin, Bruce McJunkin and Christina Wright. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charles Rogers, Jeff Bowen and Jimmy Page officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence. Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday at Cane Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Burcham, Bob Brown, Herbert Miller, Mark Bates, Tim Whitaker and Ken Burleson. Scott Boone will serve as honorary pallbearer.
