Tyrone "Ty" Bailey, Jr.

Asheville – Columbus Harold Tyrone Bailey, Jr., 71, of 650 Caribou Road, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Ty was a 1971 graduate of TC Roberson High School. He retired in 2020 following many years of service with the South Forest Ingles on Hendersonville Road where his honesty and integrity was second to none and recognized in a “Letter of Thanks” published by a customer in the Asheville Citizen Times when he found and returned her pocketbook with money, credit cards and other valuables left in a shopping cart.

He was the son of the late Columbus Harold and Alyne Marie Lanning Bailey and was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Rev. H.L. Wilson.

Surviving is his sister, Barbara Bailey Wilson of Asheville; nieces, Cindy Wilson Sills (Ernie) of Hickory and Nancy Alyne Wilson of Asheville and numerous cousins.

Graveside services will be held 3PM Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at New Salem Cemetery in Skyland with the Rev. James Lamb officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Asheville Humane Society, 14 Forever Friend Lane, Asheville, NC 28806
