Thursia Sellers Smith

Southport, NC Thursia S. Smith, 84, of Southport, NC and formerly of Asheville, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Smith was born in Towns County, GA on July 6, 1923, and was the daughter of the late William and Bertha Sims Sellers. She was the wife of the late Jack Smith and was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Smith. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Marcia Cricket Deweese and husband Richard of Southport; four grandchildren: Joshua Smith, Katrina Rhett and husband James, Leslie Smith and Melinda Smith; and a great-grandchild, Madelyn Rhett. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
