Thomas "Tommy" Kirven Jr

Asheville - Thomas Albert Tommy Kirven, Jr., 57, passed away Sunday June 21, 2009 at Memorial Campus. A native of Dorchester County, SC he had lived in Buncombe County for several years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the son of the late Thomas Albert Kirven and Gertrude Elizabeth Bass of Asheville and step son of John Bass. He liked to fish and loved his Harley. Surviving in addition to his mother and step father are his daughter, Cecillia Sluder of Leicester; sisters, Joyce Thomas of Spartanburg, SC and Kathlene Kirven of Summerville, SC; step sisters, Sandy Bass, Elizabeth Carroll and Debbie Bourgeois and his beloved puppy, Shorty. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller officiating.
