Thomas Howard "Red" Stafford

Asheville - Thomas Howard Red Stafford, 73, of 19 Old Weaverville Road Ext., died Monday August 13, 2001 at Beverly Health Care. A life long resident of Buncombe County. He had retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of the WNC CB Club. He was the son of the late Ellen C. Fox. Surviving are his wife, Fay Griffin of the home; son, Ray Stafford and wife, Sharon of Asheville; step-daughter, Diane Morgan and husband, Sammy of Weaverville; brother, Bill Fox of Swannanoa; five step-children and four grandsons. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Kent officiating. Burial will be at Elk Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
