Theresa "Mama T" Baker

Leicester – Theresa “Mama T” Woody Baker, 64, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, at her home in Leicester.

Theresa was born on August 8, 1958, to Wayne Woody and Launia Sluder Woody. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers: Leon and Bobby Sluder.

She was an active member of her community and a lifelong member of Newfound Baptist Church. She loved spreading God’s love and word. She was passionate about Bible School and Mission trips with her church. She loved to read and loved to collect lighthouses.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Ronnie “Ron” Baker; sons: Logan Baker, and Lucas Baker and wife Leslie; granddaughter, Aelin Baker; sisters: Sharon Williams and husband Randy, and Joyce Jones; brother, James Sluder; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and church family.

A memorial service to celebrate Theresa’s life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Newfound Baptist Church, 2605 New Leicester Hwy, Leicester, NC 28748, with Pastors Bradley Johnson and Jonathan Stafford officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday immediately following the service at the church.
