Asheville - Theodora Theo Morris Banks Wise, 83, of 115 Lees Creek Road died Monday April 7, 2003 at The Brian Center in Weaverville. A native of Madison County, she had lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She had worked for several Department Stores in the area and had served as the bookkeeper for the Wise Garage and was a graduate of Marshall High School. She was a very active member of Victory Baptist Church and a longtime member of West Buncombe Fire Department Auxiliary. She was a daughter of the late Lewis E. and Virgie R. Banks and was also preceded in death by a sister, Louella Penley. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Howard T. Wise of the home; daughter, Virginia Jeni Honeycutt and husband Clayton of Rogersville, Tn.; sisters, Louise Huey of Marshall, Bernice Mackey and Marjorie Penley both of Lancaster, S.C., Marietta Cogburn of Clyde, Alice Bowlin and Judy Herron both of Asheville and Carol Young of Raleigh; brothers, Robert Banks of Marshall, Lewis Banks of Norfolk, Va., Willis K. Banks and Lawrence Banks both of Asheville; grandsons, Jason Honeycutt and wife April of Raleigh and Kelvin Honeycutt and wife Danielle of Leicester; great granddaughter, Karla Honeycutt of Leicester and great grandson, Chance Honeycutt of Raleigh; Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Victory Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Sprinkle and Dale Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Judy Herron at 139 Lees Creek Road.
