Thelma Marie Rice Parker James

Thelma Marie Rice Parker James, 91, of Heather Glen at Ardenwoods Assisted Living, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, She was the daughter of the late Dewey Talmadge Rice and Lela Violet Meadows Rice. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Carl Edgar Parker, who died January of 1988; and second husband, George James who died March 2016. Mrs. James was formerly employed with Taylor Instrument Company where she served as an Inspector. She was a member of The Salvation Army. Surviving are her daughter, Irma P. Grimm and husband Bud of State College, PA; grandchildren: Rick Byrd of Titusville, FL, Pam Roman and husband Mario of Phoenix, AZ, and Keith Grimm and wife Jill of Tualatin, OR; great-grandsons: Mario Roman, Michael Roman, Owen Grimm, and Ethan Grimm. Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, with Major Leonard Taylor officiating.
