Tauba Hofstetter Sass

West Asheville - Tauba Hofstetter Sass, 89, of 80 Bear Creek Lane, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. Ms. Sass was a native of Philadelphia, PA and was a former State Vocational Social Worker. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Teresa Hofstetter Sass and was also preceded in death by her only brother Frederick Sass. Surviving are her nephews, Dr. Robert Sass of Hixson, TN and Theodore Sass of Bensalem, PA; sister-in-law, Kitty Sass and special cousin, Lewis Savron. Prayers for Ms. Sass will be said during the Kabbalat Shabbat Services, by Rabbi Batsheva Meiri, Friday, May 13, 2011 at 7:30 PM at Beth Ha-Tephila Congregation, 43 N. Liberty Street. Private burial will be held at Montefiore Cemetery in Jenkintown, PA at a later date. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
