Sylvia Mae Chockley

Fairview - Sylvia Mae Reese Chockley, 76, formerly of Asheville, died Thursday April 18, 2002 at Fleshers Fairview Health Care. A native and resident most of her life of Buncombe County. She was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church and formerly attended Bingham Heights Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late William Hubert and Lottie Geneva Coleman Reese. Surviving are her former husband, Walter M. Chockley of West Asheville; daughters, Linda Kay Simpson of Hendersonville and Debra Chockley Rice of Marshall; son, Bill M. Chockley of Asheville and five grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park with Jeff, Frank, and Josh Simpson, Steve Henderson, James Jantti and Ed Lydiatt serving as pallbearers.. Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
