Asheville - Summer S. Kolesar, 36, of Asheville N.C., died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Mission Hospital Asheville after a courageous battle with cancer. Summer was born on August 28, 1974, in Lucerne, Switzerland, to Bob and Sylvia Reisenbigler-Siewert. Summer graduated from Roycemore School in Evanston Illinois in 1992 where she received the Outstanding Artist Award her senior year, and attended the School of Natural Medicine in Boulder Colorado. In addition to her love of horses, Summer pursued a career in living foods while raising her children, lecturing and organizing events to promote better health. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Kolesar and their children Ariana, Lyra and Darshan, her mother, Sylvia Reisenbigler, her sister, Tiffany Prendergast , and relatives David and Darlene Reisenbigler of Erie, Illinois, Ardie Reisenbigler of Shaumberg, IL, cousins Debbie Larson and Dawn Weeber, both of Moline and David N. Reisenbigler of Melbourne Australia; also B.J. and Cheryl Britton of Elgin, Arizona, and her dearest friends Vanessa Kieling of Denver and Amy Benning of Bettendorf, Iowa. Summer was predeceased by her father, Robert Siewert, of British Columbia, Canada. A funeral service was held on April 15 at the Black Mountain, N.C. Presbyterian Church. And on April 16, a Benefit was held to celebrate her life at the Odyssey Community School in Asheville. A Memorial Service will be held in Erie when the family returns to Sylvia's home. The date for this service has yet to be announced. The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt thanks to family and friends who have contributed to the well being of Summer and her family during the past five months with prayers and acts of kindness. Summer faced her challenges with the strength and grace that characterized her life and left a precious legacy of courage for all who knew her.
