Steve Shultz

Asheville Steven Gordon Steve Shultz, 54, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Steve was native of Swannanoa where he had resided most of his life and was a custom motorcycle builder. He was a 1978 graduate of Charles D. Owen High School where he played football, was a member of Buckeye Baptist Church and served for 5 years in the US Navy. Steve was a son of Paul Gordon Shultz of Asheville and the late Martha Harper Pruett and step son of Jim Pruett of Black Mountain. He was also preceded in death by his step mother, Norma Mickey Shultz. Surviving in addition to his father and step father are his daughters, Emerald Ivy Spilman and Jameson Martha Spilman and their mother, Beth Ann Spilman Shultz all of Hendersonville; sisters, Paula Shultz Owens and husband Henry and Sidney Shultz Carter and husband Vince all of Asheville; brother, James Christopher Chris Pruett of Owasco, NY; niece, Elisabeth Carter and nephews, Richard Ray and Simon Carter. Memorial services will be held at Reynolds Baptist Church, 520 Rose Hill Road Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11 AM with Rev. Judson Rotan officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the church.
