Steve Lunsford

Hendersonville - Steve Herman Lunsford, Sr., 72, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of his life, Mr. Lunsford retired as a truck driver from Hobson Construction. He was the son of the late Nelson and Pauline Sawyer Lunsford, and was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. Surviving are his sons: Ted Lunsford and wife Allison, Steve Lunsford, Jr. and wife Beverly, Nelson Lunsford and wife Jodi, and Michael Lunsford and wife Emily; his life partner, Libby McFeeture, and her son, Scott McFeeture-Hawkins; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers: Alvin, Boyce and Larry Lunsford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dean Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of Mr. Lunsford, 288 Lake Rugby Drive, Hendersonville.
