Stan Waldrup

September 24, 1942 — March 25, 2012

Candler Harry Stanley Stan Waldrup, 69, died at his home March 25, 2012. A native of Mars Hill, he was preceded in death by his parents, Tracy and Mabel Waldrup; sister, Lucretia Maynor and the love of his life, Mary Waldrup. He is survived by his children, Chris Waldrup and wife Katherine of Tracy City, TN; Becky Waldrup Johnston and husband Dan of Winston-Salem; and his children gained by marriage, Leslie and Bob Rhinehart of Candler and Leigh and Mike Patton of Asheville. He proudly boasted of 6 grandchildren, Alex, Elizabeth, Madison, Robert, Alexander and Charlotte. He is also survived by his childrens mother, Jane Waldrup of Candler. Stan also leaves behind other family members: his sister, Vera Taylor and her husband Wayne, his sister, Linda Webb and her husband Jerry, his sister Saundy Pegg; his brother, Gary Waldrup and his wife Linda and his brother, Ernie Waldrup not to mention a whole slew of nephews and nieces. Stan will be remembered for his long career in Real Estate which spanned several decades, as well as his most recent career where he loved his second family at The Home Depot of West Asheville. His legacy will live on as his son exudes his ingenuity and tender heart, and his daughter reflects his love for people and his sense of humor. His grandchildren are blessed to have known their Silly Dadaw, and are thankful that he is now reunited with their Nanny. A private memorial service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, consider honoring Stans life by taking someone you love out to eat. Alternatively, you may make a donation to CarePartners Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, N.C. 28813 as a continued gratitude for the care they gave his wife in her final days.
