Sistenia Maria Goforth

Asheville - Sistenia Maria Cresanta Goforth, 86, of 17 Park Avenue, Died Tuesday September 4, 2001 at Blue Ridge Rehabilitation Center. Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend, ended her suffering under the tender loving care of Mountain Area Hospice and Blue Ridge Rehab personnel and friends from St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. A native of Blairsville, Pa. she resided in Buncombe County for the past 30 years and was the former owner of Goforth Grocery and Cafe. She was a daughter of the late Donato and Carolina Ficca Cresanta and wife of the late Roy Solomon Goforth and was also preceded in death by a son, Claude Dana Goforth. Surviving are her daughters, Emma Carolyn Ettwein of Arden and Mary Ann Shope of Black Mountain; sons, John Lewis Goforth and wife Carol of McMinnville, TN. and James Roy Goforth of Asheville; sister, Gladys DiAngelo and husband Frank of Indiana, Pa., and brother Nicholas Cresanta and wife Grace of Charlotte; grandchildren, Eric and Chris Goforth of McMinnville, TN., Bill and George Ettwein of Arden, Susan Ettwein Molby of Santa Fe, NM. and Mark Shope of Black Mountain and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Father Andrew Latsko officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.
