Shirley Grindstaff Smith

Old Fort – Shirley Grindstaff Smith, 77, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Emerald Ridge Health Care Center.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Grindstaff and Ada Roberts Grindstaff.

Mrs. Smith worked for the Medicap Pharmacy in Black Mountain for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 40 years, James “Jim” Riley Smith; son, Bruce Douglas Smith; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Allen Smith and wife Mary, Dell Sams and husband Ivan, Terry Smith, and Sherry Worley and husband Dean.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, 3970 New Leicester Hwy, Leicester, NC 28748.
