Shelia Garren Ledford

Arden - Shelia Garren Ledford, born May 31, 1953, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 29, 2014. Ms. Ledford was a volunteer for many years at Mission Hospitals Heart Tower and was a caregiver for over 20 years to many children. She enjoyed going to Fletcher Feed and Seed on the weekends to listen to Bluegrass and Gospel music. She loved going to church with her children and was a former member of Biltmore Holiness Temple. Ms. Ledford was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn Preston Garren, Sr. and Mabel McHone Garren; sister, Bessie Pruett; and nephew, Normie Pruitt. Surviving are her children: Jeff Ledford and wife Shannon, and Jennifer Darity and husband Jimmy; grandchildren: Brianna Ledford, Sierra Ledford, Trevor Ledford and Katlin Darity; brothers: Wilburn Preston Garren, Jr. and wife Rosemary and Gary Garren and wife Linda; sisters: Helen Pruitt and husband Norman and Cheryl Laws; special godson, Mark Rushton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Gods Filling Station, with Pastor Steve Brockwell and Rev. Keith Knox, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Old Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 9:00 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
