Sharon Rene Sledge

Sunman, Indiana - Sharon Rene Sledge, 52, of Sunman, Indiana and formerly of Candler, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Indiana. She was born November 7, 1957 in Asheville and was the daughter of Barbara Jean Payne Dorlan and Howard Dorlan. She was a graduate of Enka High School and she also graduated from Cecil's Junior College with a degree in Business Administration. She retired from Southeastern Container Inc. in Enka, where she worked in quality control. She was a member of the Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include her Son, Eric Sledge and two Grandchildren, Wesley and Courtney Sledge of Sunman, Indiana; Brother, Brian Dorlan of Black Mountain.; three Sisters, Trina Wilkerson of Seneca, S.C., Tammy Arrowood of Asheville, and Revonda VanDervert of Arkansas; four Nephews, and many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 6:00 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Earl Jones, Pastor of Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church, will officiate. The family will receive friends following services at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at a later date.
