Shannon Erwin Jones

Alexander - Mary Shannon Erwin Jones, 33, of 11 Hunters View Drive, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County most of her life, she worked for several years with Jordon Food Stores as an Assistant Manager. She attended Erwin High School and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Shannon had a passion for life. She loved her family and her nieces and nephew were her joy. She touched many lives over the years and took a great interest in and concern for the lives of those who touched her. She was preceded in death by her daughter Emily Elizabeth Erwin-Teague who passed away in 1996. Shannon was the daughter of Randy Erwin & wife Jane of Asheville and Nola Elizabeth Hunter Teague & husband John of the home. Surviving in addition to her parents are her maternal grandmother Alrie Hunter of Alexander, sister Lori Teague, brothers: Wayne Erwin & wife Vicki, Jason Erwin, and Greg Goforth & wife Crystal, nieces: Katie and Jada, and nephew Javin; several aunts, uncles & cousins. Memorial Services will be 11 AM Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Phillips and James Crayton officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM Friday at the home of John and Nola Teague, 11 Hunters View Drive in Alexander, N.C. The family wishes to express special thanks to the Doctors at Mountain Kidney Associates, those who cared for Shannon at DaVida Dialysis in Weaverville, and the 4th floor Nurses and Staff at Mission Hospital.
