Selma C. Taylor

Asheville Selma Celeste Karsner Taylor, 72, of 14-D Woodridge Apartments, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009. She was a native of Philadelphia, PA, had resided in Asheville since 1962 and was formerly employed with St. Josephs Hospital in the cafateria. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Reed Karsner, Jr. and Thelma Helen Heilman Karsner and was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Reed Taylor. Surviving are her daughters, Ann Meacham and husband, Nick of Arden and Helen Hall and husband, Wade of Candler; grandchildren, Jackie Elizabeth Rice, Natalie A. Taylor, John Edward Petrey, II and Joshua David Rice; brothers, Richard Karsner of Baltimore, MD and Joseph Reed Karsner, III of Philadelphia. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM Monday at Green Hills Cemetery. At other times the family will be at the home of Helen Hall, 11 St. Matthews Drive, Candler. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Taylors family.
