Scottie Smith

Asheville – Scottie Lee Smith, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 9, 2023.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Scottie was self-employed as a “Jack of All Trades,” doing painting, construction, or anything else that needed to be done. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Peggy Lee.

Scottie was the son of Michael Watford and Daisy Smith. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his son, Wes Smith and fiancé Serenity; grandchildren: Zander and Julia; sister, Cheyanne Nettles; and brother, Charles Smith.

Per the family’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to RHA Behavioral Health Services - Addiction Recovery, 356 Biltmore Ave, Suite 200, Asheville, NC 28801, or to any organization that assists individuals with drug and alcohol dependency.
