Scott Gilliland

Scott Sidney Gilliland entered Eternal Life on Friday, January 6, 2023.

Scott was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was a son of the late Britton Sylvester Gilliland, Sr. and Mary Ellen Gilliland. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Lucille Craig; and brothers: Britton Sylvester Gilliland. Jr. and Timothy Perry Gilliland.

Scott loved his family more than anything else. He was always willing to help anyone who needed his assistance and was always very generous. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked for Flowers Bakery for over 30 years, during that time working his way up from working a route to the position of District Manager.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Christy Kendall and husband Gary; grandchildren: Nicole, Tyler, and Chelsea; sisters: Brenda Gregory and husband Alvin, and Gerri Lunsford; sisters-in-law: Pat Gilliland, and Janet Gilliland; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A service to celebrate Scott’s life will be held at a later date.
