Sallie Elizabeth Crane

Arden – Sallie Elizabeth Causby Crane, 77, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023.

A native of South Carolina, she resided in Western North Carolina most of her life. She graduated from Glenwood High School, near Marion, NC, in 1964, and worked for many years at St. Joseph Hospital and retired from Pardee Hospital as a Pharmacy Technician. She was a loving mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to raising her son, Douglas and grandson, Perry, who later in life dedicated himself to caring for her.

Sallie was a member of the Beta Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 30 years, holding the Order of The Rose Degree. She attended Avery’s Creek United Methodist Church in Arden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mary Sue Wellborn Causby; son, Douglas O. Crane; sister, Betty Causby; brother, Robert Causby and wife Jessie; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Ogle.

Surviving are her grandson, Perry O. Crane; sisters, Carolyn Ogle, and Sara McHone and husband Gary; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Avery's Creek United Methodist Church, 874 Glenn Bridge Road SE, Arden, NC 28704.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2 till 3 PM.
