Ruth M. Brown

Ruth Marie Meadows Brown, 88, of 631 Morrow Branch Road, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Kingsport, TN she had resided in Leicester since 1951. She was a member of Little Sandy United Methodist Church and loved her family, pets and her flowers. She was a daughter of the late Claude E. Meadows, Sr. and Bessie Jump Meadows and wife of the late Arnold Paul Brown, who died May 4, 1995 and former wife of the late James G. Gillespie. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Evangeline, Virginia and Mary Frances and a brother, Douglas. Surviving are her sons, James J. Gillespie and wife, Betty and Paul A. Brown and wife, Ellie all of Leicester; grandsons, Jimmy Brown and wife, Dorothy of Leicester and Michael Brown and wife, Misty of Waynesville; great grandchildren, Tamara, Andrew, Justin and Chanie, sisters, Blanche, Genevieve, Eva Mae, Edith, Marie, Charlotte and Jackie; brothers, Claude, Jr. and Charles; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday at Little Sandy United Methodist Church with Rev. Wyllene Skipper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the church.
