Ruth Davis Mcelrath

CANDLER Ruth Davis McElrath, 87, of 11 Softwind Trail passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Oaks of Sweeten Creek. Mrs. McElrath was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a daughter of the late Don and Mary Ann Ray Davis and the wife of Ernest Ray McElrath, Sr. who died March 20, 1998. Surviving are her son, Ernest Ray McElrath, Jr. and wife, Barbara both of Canton; daughters, Wanda Stamey of Asheville and Ann McElrath Isbell and husband, Curtis of Richmond, VA; grandsons, David McElrath of Charlotte and Chris McElrath of Canton and grand daughter, Ashley Hubert of Norfolk, VA; seven great grandchildren; sister, Katherine Davis and brother, Charles Davis both of Candler; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. H.D. Houck officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
