Ruby N. Clement

Asheville – Ruby Nell Luther Atkins Clement, 75, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe County, she had resided in Rutherford County since 2016 and was formerly employed with Mars Mfg Co for a number of years. She was the daughter of the late Furman Melvin Luther and Nell Banks Luther and wife of the late William Franklin Atkins who died in 1972 and the late Albert Henry Clement who died in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin, Leroy and JB Luther. Surviving are her children, Furnell Emmons and William Steve Atkins both of Asheville and Andy Atkins and wife Jean of Lake Lure; grandchildren, Samuel Lambert, Jr., Katelyn Levister and husband Mike and Andy Atkins, Jr. and wife Briana; great grandchildren, Delilah, Grayson and Emma Levister and Logan Atkins and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Friday, December 3, 2021 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Tim Warren officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 AM Friday at the funeral home.
