Asheville - Ruby Louise Silvers, 93, of 46 Millbrook Rd. died Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at the Laurels of Greentree Ridge, surrounded by her family, after a period of declining health. A native of Yancey County, she had lived in Buncombe County for 65 years. Mrs. Silvers was the oldest living member of Westwood Baptist Church. She loved her church and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Loretta Hensley Presnell and was the wife of the late Charles Clyde Silvers who died March 8, 1984. Surviving are her children, Mary Walker of Asheville, Ann Davis and husband Cecil of Chapel Hill, Fran Gore and husband Ed of Asheville, and Charles Silvers and wife Dorothy of El Dorado Springs, MO; grandchildren, Debra Harris, Craig Silvers, Chris Silvers, Beverly Duff, Spencer Davis, Robert Davis and Britt Crane; step grandchildren, Melinda Gore, Marianne Gore, and Emily Lynch; 14 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ron Brown and Foyd Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
