Ruby A. Johnson

Lady Lake, FL Ruby Alene Wheeler Johnson, 76, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at The Villages of Florida. A native and resident of Buncombe County, she had resided in Florida since 2011. She was a Private Duty Nurse and member of New Salem Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late John Thomas Wheeler and Nellie Lou Emma Penland Wheeler and was the wife of George Junior Johnson, Sr. who died March 23, 1993. Surviving are her sons, Richard Thomas Johnson and George Junior Johnson, Jr.; daughters, Diana Hawkins and Judith Boyd; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a number of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Sunday, March 24, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
