Asheville - Roy Hyatt, 76, of 24 Alclare Drive died Monday, December 31, 2001 at Memorial Mission Hospital following a long illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mr. Hyatt retired from General Electric where he served as a sales representative. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a member of Beaver Lake Golf Course where he was an avid golfer and golf instructor. He was a son of the late Clyde and Crelia Wyatt Hyatt. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Ethel Sexton Hyatt of the home; brother, J.C. Hyatt of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr., Dr. Ralph Sexton, Sr. and Allen Rash officiating. Burial will in Green Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.C. Hyatt, Jr., Tim Hyatt, John Gilbert, Dwight Parrish, Mark Sexton and Matthew Templeton. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, N.C. 28806.
